Questions about Text expander

Is it really free, with no limits?

Yes. The AI model runs on your own device, so it costs us nothing per use: there is no sign-up, no subscription, no daily limit and no word cap.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The AI model runs in your browser tab on your own device, using WebGPU. Only the model itself is downloaded, once, from Hugging Face; the text you work on never leaves the tab.

Will it add facts I did not give?

It is told not to. Small models can still add a detail now and then, so read the result before you send it.

How big is the download, and which model should I choose?

Between about 0.9 and 3.4 GB, once; your browser keeps it for next time, and every AI tool uses the same model. Gemma 2 2B is a good balance. Llama 3.2 1B is the quickest on older devices, and Qwen 3 4B gives the best results on a computer with a recent graphics chip.

Which browsers work?

Browsers with WebGPU: current Chrome and Edge on Windows, macOS and ChromeOS, Safari 26 or later, and Chrome on recent Android phones. It runs faster on computers with more graphics memory.
