Your text
Text you type, paste or open in Scissor Text is processed entirely in your browser and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We cannot see, store, share or recover it.
What our server sees
Like any website, our server and content delivery network receive standard request information when your browser downloads the site's pages and files: IP address, requested address, time, and browser user agent. This is used only to operate and secure the service and to count aggregate traffic, and is not combined with other data or sold.
Anonymous usage statistics
To see which tools are used and fix what breaks, the site counts page views and a few events, such as which tool was used and whether a result was copied. These counts contain none of your text, no IP address and no identifier that follows you: no cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device for this. They go to our own customer care service on this domain, never to an analytics company.
Error reports
When the page runs into an unexpected error, it sends our own customer care service a short technical report: the type of error, where in our code it happened, the page, your browser and the version of the site. The report never contains your text.
Feedback, bug reports and contact messages
If you choose to rate a tool, report a problem or send us a message, we receive what you type, the page you were on, the name of your browser and operating system and, if you add them, your email address and a screenshot. The text in the tool is never attached. We use this only to answer you and improve Scissor Text, keep it no longer than needed for that, and never share or sell it.
The AI voice model
If you choose Kokoro in Text to speech, your browser downloads the voice model from this site and keeps it in its cache. The model runs on your device; the text it reads is never sent to us or anyone else. You can remove the model from the tool at any time.
AI writing tools
The AI grammar checker, translator, paraphraser and summarizer run an open language model in your browser. The first time you use one, your browser downloads the model you chose from Hugging Face, which publishes these open models, and from GitHub, which hosts the matching graphics code; they see an ordinary download request, never your text. Your browser keeps the model so it is not downloaded again, and you can remove it from the tool. The text you write is processed on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. Only these four pages are allowed to download from those two sites.
Cookies
Scissor Text sets no cookies and uses no advertising or third-party trackers. Your browser stores the site's files for offline use, and keeps a result briefly in session storage when you choose Continue with to pass it to another tool; it is removed as soon as the next tool opens it.
