How to remove extra spaces

What it cleans
Runs of spaces and tabs become one space, spaces at the start and end of lines are removed, and empty lines are kept, reduced to one, or removed, as you choose.
Invisible characters
Non-breaking spaces and other Unicode spaces that look like normal spaces are cleaned too, which often fixes text that will not wrap or search properly.

Will it join lines into paragraphs?
Not by itself. To join lines, use Find and replace with a regular expression that replaces \n with a space.
Does it change the words?
No. Only spaces, tabs and empty lines change; every word stays as it is.
